Add a left orbital fracture to the list of injuries that Derrick Rose has suffered since entering the NBA.

The Chicago Bulls announced Tuesday, the first day of training camp, that Rose has suffered a left orbital fracture during practice. The injury occurred after Rose took an elbow to the face. Per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, the injury took place during a scrimmage.

After the hit, Rose was taken to Rush University Medical Center by Bulls medical staff, so he could be examined. It was determined that surgery would be required after he consulted with several specialists. The surgery will take place Wednesday, Sept. 30 at Rush, and a timetable for Rose’s return will be made afterwards.
